Corrosion Inhibitor

HM Inhibitor is a highly concentrated combination of inhibitors and wetting agents. It is used during the pickling process to protect the treated substrate against the adverse effects of acid pickling. Hydrogen diffusion into the substrate is significantly reduced.

Technical specifications

Very small quantities of HM Inhibitor have a passivating effect on bare steel parts without preventing rust removal. The treated material remains intact.

HM Inhibitor provides excellent protective properties and good rinsability. Any negative effects on subsequent coating processes can be minimized through thorough rinsing followed by electrolytic degreasing.

The protective effect remains effective even during extended bath times, provided that losses due to drag-out are compensated for by adding the corresponding amount of product.

Instructions for use

  • Field of Application: Additive to acidic solutions for rust removal. Concentrated solutions must be diluted. When used in combination with other products, please verify safety and effectiveness.
  • Initial Concentration: 0.2–0.8%, calculated based on the anhydrous acid content, depending on the sensitivity of the material being treated.
  • Acids: Hydrochloric or sulfuric acid should be used at a concentration of 5% to 20%.
